With the development of industrialization, bearings are used more and more widely in various equipments. The adjustment of bearing radial clearance, measurement and bearing installation methods are very important in the use of bearings. This article focuses on some detection and adjustment methods related to bearing clearance.
1. bearing clearance
There is a certain gap between the inner and outer rings of the rolling bearing and the rolling elements, so there can be relative displacement between the inner and outer rings. In the case of no load, one ferrule is fixed, and the other ferrule moves along the radial and axial directions of the bearing from one extreme position to the other, called bearing radial clearance and axial clearance.
2. Measurement of bearing clearance
The methods of bearing clearance measurement mainly include special instrument measurement method, simple measurement method and feeler measurement method.
The feeler gauge measurement method is the most widely used in the field. It is suitable for the measurement of the bearing radial clearance of large and extra large cylindrical roller bearings. The bearing is raised or laid flat. If there is any dispute, the measurement when the bearing is laid flat is accurate. .
The method for determining the maximum bearing radial clearance and the minimum bearing radial clearance of the bearing: when measuring with the feeler piece along the circumference of the roller and the raceway, turn the ferrule and the roller cage assembly one week, in three consecutive rolls The maximum thickness of the feeler blade that can pass through is the maximum radial clearance measurement.
The minimum thickness of the feeler blade that cannot pass through three consecutive rollers is the minimum bearing radial clearance measurement. Take the arithmetic mean of the maximum bearing radial clearance and minimum radial clearance measurements as the radial clearance value of the bearing. The value of the clearance measured using the feeler gauge measurement allows for errors including the thickness tolerance of the feeler gauge.
When the bearing radial clearance is measured by the feeler gauge measurement, after the radial clearance value of each column is qualified, the arithmetic mean of the two rows of clearance values is taken as the bearing radial clearance value of the bearing.
3. bearing clearance adjustment
(1) Adjustment of bearing axial clearance.
Specific adjustment method: When the reducer is not covered, the shaft assembly is assembled in place, the gland bolts on both sides of the bearing are fastened in place, and then a certain pressure is applied axially at one end of the shaft. The axial force can be measured by the axial force of the shaft during operation, and then the gap 1 and the gap 2 are measured using a feeler gauge. After the measurement is completed, the sum of the gap 1 and the gap 2 is calculated, and the original clearance measured with the bearing is measured. Contrast, to ensure that the difference between the two is within ±40μm, if the requirements are not met, you can adjust the gasket by adding adjustments until the requirements are met.
(2) Adjustment of bearing radial clearance.
Bearing radial clearance specific adjustment method: In order to facilitate the measurement, the bearing cover on both sides of the bearing should be removed before adjustment, the bearing is installed on the bearing seat, the upper cover is covered, and the four fastening bolts on both sides of the bearing radial clearance are evenly tightened by using a torque wrench. The pre-tightening force of the bolt can be referred to the relevant provisions of the national standard. After tightening in place, the measuring is performed using a feeler gauge, and the measured value is compared with the standard value of the look-up table.
Due to the many factors affecting bearing radial clearance, there are many specific adjustment methods for bearing clearance. Some of the methods mentioned in the paper are used. Different bearings can be adjusted according to the specific conditions.
